Like Sheep Without a Shepherd
In Matthew 9, we see one of Matthew's great summary statements of Jesus's ministry. Jesus was not cloistered up somewhere away from the struggles of real life: he went out in the community and was with the people. Jesus did not remain aloof from the pain of others, he dove right in and healed and taught from Good's Word. What we see on display in Matthew 9:35-38 is Jesus's compassion. His real and deep-felt care for us and for all.
In this sermon last Sunday from Assisting Bishop Quigg Lawrence, walks us line by line through Matthew 9:35-38.
