What a Christian Sees that Others Do Not
In Mark 8, Jesus performs a bizarre miracle, so bizarre, in fact, that the reading plan (lectionary) many Churches follow skips over it. It involves spitting in a man's eyes, and what appears to be a partial restoration of sight.
The unusual nature of this healing is by design. Through this miracle, Jesus is telling us something that, if we have ears to hear, will show us what being a disciple of Jesus is all about.
