What is Jesus's Glory? Why does it matter?
The content of our prayers tells us a lot about ourselves: about our faith, our loves, desires, goals, what we think of God and his plans for us, etc. In John 17:1-11, we get to see one of Jesus's prayers. And what we see is odd: Jesus prays for a peculiar thing. He prays for himself to be glorified. Is Jesus just being self-centered, narcissistic? Why would he pray such a thing?
As we dive into this passage we find that Jesus's glory, far from being something self-focused, actually is central to the good of God's people, and the whole life of the Church.
